Liebe Freunde,

one year ago I was on my way to Bamberg to attend a language course in order to learn some German for my University studies… But that days in the nice little town has meant much more, MUCH MORE. The memories of that experience have been with me all the year long, have been a support in the tough moments, when I was stressed, when I was tired, I kept on thinking how much I was enjoying life in Bamberg and this has been a big relief.

In Bamberg I was enjoying a walk trough the town, riding the bike along the river, drinking a beer on the Obere Brücke or a Cappuccino at Pia’s Café… and also doing die Hausaufgabe in the school! The relationship with people was not problematic at all, I felt like I never had so many friends as in Bamberg… I simply had time to enjoy the little things of life and time to share with people and people had time to share with me.

I know that life can not be every day a Language Course in Bamberg, but I’m still wandering how it could be an half way between that and the usual stress. I’m still wandering how I could integrate that experience with my every day life and this is why I really want to go back to Bamberg.

I’ve made all the efforts to go back, but at the moment it’s impossible, unless I give up all the things I’m doing. And what about you? Have you returned to Bamberg? Are you planning to go back?

I don’t know if you can share or understand this feeling, but it doesn’t matter, I just want to thank all of you for having been part of that experience and tell you that I will always keep you in mind and that I really hope to meet you again.

I really feel “homesick” for Bamberg.
