Spending 6 weeks at Treffpunkt is honestly one of the best things I’ve ever done. Not only did my German improve more than I could have expected, I met some truly amazing people from all over the world. Treffpunkt isn’t just a language school, it’s a social and cultural experience. The ‘Freizeit Program’ makes it easy to forge friendships with the other students, whilst also providing the opportunity to enjoy the delights of Bamberg. Additionally, it creates a relaxed environment in which to put into practice all the new grammar and vocab learnt during the day.

The teachers at Treffpunkt are immensely talented and possess superhuman levels of patience – it is evident they have all been carefully handpicked. I was particularly impressed by the way they each inject their own ideas, styles and methodology into their lessons rather than slavishly following text books. When coupled with their ability to adapt according to the proficiency and mood of the students, interest levels are kept high. As a student, you feel an obligation to work hard in return!

I would recommend Treffpunkt to anyone thinking of learning German, whether young or old, beginner or expert. Being on an intensive language course is hard work though and after 6 weeks I was starting to feel quite mentally exhausted (thanks to Kuni for being so understanding during our one-to-one lessons when I was barely able to think!). As advice, I would say it’s definitely worthwhile spending time on the homework to help consolidate everything new learnt; it pays dividends in the long run.

I cannot imagine an environment more conducive to learning a foreign language. Over and above the teaching, the time and effort invested into the trips and excursions demonstrates Treffpunkt’s devotion to ensuring everyone enjoys their time in Bamberg. I wish I could have stayed longer, and am already plotting my next trip.
